Project Objective
SMK Group, a leading meat processing enterprise in Ukraine with over 600 retail outlets, faced significant challenges in managing its supply chain, financials, inventory, and analytics between its product suppliers and retail point owners. The objective was to develop a comprehensive software solution that could streamline these operations, enhance efficiency, and improve the customer journey and interaction with suppliers. The solution aimed to facilitate autonomous order placements and returns by stores, manage product and financial accounting, and offer predictive ordering and sales analytics.

Process
Frontmen, in collaboration with SMK Group, embarked on creating Impulse, a tailor-made software that integrates Middleware and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The project was geared towards establishing seamless communication between SMK Group's supply chain components and its expansive retail network.
The development process focused on work of various roles within the ecosystem, including shop administrators, owners, sales agents, drivers, company managers, and editors. This ensured that each user could perform their functions efficiently, contributing to the overall productivity of the supply chain.
Key features implemented in Impulse include:
- Autonomous order processing and returns for stores.
- Comprehensive product and financial accounting.
- Sales storage and analysis.
- Service for preliminary pre-order formation.
- Storage of reconciliation acts.
- The use of Middleware technologies allowed for the integration of various systems and data flows, ensuring that every piece of information was accurately captured and processed. Meanwhile, the ERP component of Impulse ensured that resource management was optimized, leading to reduced operational costs and improved efficiency.
Outcome
The introduction of Impulse profoundly transformed the customer journey and interaction with SMK Group’s product supply. It demarcated the management of enterprise resources and the interaction with the retail network, allowing for more focused and effective operations.

Effectiveness
The effectiveness of Impulse was immediately noticeable:
- It facilitated a significant change in the customer pathway and their interaction experience with the supplier.
- It delineated the areas of enterprise resource accounting and interactions with the store network.
- SMK Group gained a powerful tool for operational data planning and analysis.
- The process optimization led to reduced cost of service for interacting with the retail points.
- There was an increase in the timeliness and accuracy of order receipts.
Impulse, through its Middleware and ERP functionalities, not only streamlined SMK Group's internal processes but also enhanced its CRM capabilities.
This holistic approach to solving SMK Group’s operational challenges has set a new standard for retail and supply chain management in the industry. The success of Impulse underscores the potential of integrated software solutions in transforming the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations across sectors.
